Then one day, in the beginning of season 3 they lost that wacky sense of humour all of a sudden and became a joke themselves! Seriously, why does it still run?

serious answer - it makes money for the network in syndication. That's how the broadcast TV show business works.

And in order for a show to be syndicated it has to have a threshold of 100 episodes in the US. So, if the show is popular in in its first few seasons and if the network strikes syndication deals, they ask the makers to continue until 100 shows at the least (whether the makers want to or not is besides the point, the contract is god).
It's obvious everyone involved has lost interest! Except Kenneth obviously!!! And he gets under skin coz of his unbridled enthusiasm! Jenna is the only funny one left...
Jenna is fucking hilarious, haven't been keeping up with the show! This is the last season, (Le ho gayee teri muraad poori :) so will watch the series finale for sure.
